      Welcome to The Great Try-On. With spring fully upon us, we took the chance to sample the best new pieces from some of our favorite brands, capturing the experience along the way. As spring has arrived, I'm on the lookout for high-quality transitional items I can wear repeatedly, and I'm turning to Aligne for this. A favorite among fashion enthusiasts, this British label not only crafts exceptional, socially responsible clothing, but its refined tailoring and contemporary silhouettes also bring an air of chic sophistication to every look. The brand's signature hourglass design is present in its blazers, cardigans, and tops, but as I discovered, there’s so much more to adore in Aligne’s spring 2025 collection.

      When adding to my thoughtfully curated wardrobe, the quality and composition of garments are paramount, but this can be challenging in the fast fashion era while also seeking fun pieces that are budget-friendly. This is where Aligne shines. A brand designed by women for women, each piece is intentionally made to be loved for years to come. It’s been quite some time since I felt genuinely excited by nearly every item in a seasonal collection, but as you'll see below, I believe everything I tried would be a fantastic addition to a spring wardrobe.

      My Review: A black blazer is a true wardrobe essential that can elevate any outfit, so trying Aligne's Daphne style was a must. I always look for pieces that can seamlessly transition from work to casual outings, and this one exceeded my expectations. The waist is cinched with a buckle at the back for a flattering fit, and when paired with this A-line skirt, it effortlessly achieves a casual chic vibe. I’d say the blazer fits true to size, though I found a UK size 8 a bit snug around the bust—something to keep in mind as this is a style you might prefer buttoned up. The skirt fell at a perfect length for my preference (I’m 5'10", and it reached just above my ankles), but it ran slightly large, so I opted for an 8 instead of my usual 10, and it fit perfectly. A reliable cotton skirt is essential as summer approaches, and this one has quickly become my favorite. It has a light, airy quality with a stretchy waistband and a subtle balloon hem that adds visual interest, perfect for enhancing even the simplest outfit.

      My Review: The moment I spotted this striped polo, I knew it was a must-try. If you, like me, wish to explore the preppy aesthetic, this top might be just the right choice. It has a generous fit (I sized up), yet still maintains an effortlessly structured vibe. The bold colors are refreshing, and I enjoy experimenting with color as the days grow brighter. Pairing it with barrel-leg jeans elevates the entire look. If you carry weight in your hips like I do, this silhouette could be perfect for you; I find it incredibly flattering and stylish, and I know these will be my go-to jeans for spring. Crafted from the softest denim in a lovely mid-blue wash, they both look and feel high-end.

      My Review: I believe double denim is always a great choice, and my third outfit confirmed this. A peplum top can be challenging to style, but the thoughtful details on this one made it simple. The removable belt and double-button details elevate it while keeping the silhouette defined. Made from a thicker, sturdier denim, it holds its shape well, making it versatile enough for dressing up or down. The shorts, in the same wash, are the kind I would wear throughout the summer; they’re long enough to provide coverage while fitting comfortably at the waist and lengthening my legs, making them an excellent purchase.
