I Recently Tried On Zara's Latest Jackets, Skirts, Linen Trousers, and Shoes—Here’s What Caught My Attention.
Welcome to The Great Try-On. With spring definitely in the air, we took the chance to try on the best new arrivals from some of our favorite brands, capturing the experience along the way. We believe that the optimal way to shop online is to see an item in real life first and read honest reviews about fit, style, and quality, so we hope our try-ons guide you toward your most successful purchases of the year. The start of a new season always brings a mix of excitement and slight wardrobe-related anxiety. Just as I get comfortable dressing for one type of weather, the forecast changes, and I find myself back to square one, unsure about how I want my style to evolve. Right now, I’m feeling that transition with spring 2025. I've always loved spring—the longer evenings, the chance for outdoor brunches without needing multiple layers, and the energy to rise early in the morning. Still, this particular spring has caught me off guard in terms of my wardrobe.
Over the years, I’ve gradually adopted a more thoughtful approach to shopping. I no longer make impulse purchases on trending items but instead choose pieces I know I’ll wear often. However, my spring wardrobe is looking a bit thin right now, consisting of a few linen shirts, a couple of dresses, and a pair of sandals that have seen better days. It’s clear I need to invest in a few key pieces to see me through the season, and I know exactly where to go: Zara.
Zara has long been a foundational element of my wardrobe. It’s one of the few high street brands that consistently offers trend-driven pieces alongside timeless essentials. I will admit, my shopping habits there have changed since my early twenties; I no longer feel compelled to buy something every time I visit, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the treasures Zara has to offer. I just shop with more discretion now. So, I decided to visit my local store and check out the new collection in person, determining if there were any items worth taking home.
Upon entering the store, I was immediately captivated. Zara is clearly focusing on soft tailoring this season—relaxed blazers, wide-leg trousers, and crisp cotton shirts in neutral shades filled the shop floor, all feeling fresh yet wearable. Naturally, Zara wouldn’t be Zara without some bold statement pieces, and this season’s offerings included sheer textures, vibrant prints, and dramatic silhouettes. It was a blend of understated elegance and playful items, which is truly what the brand excels at.
Although I described myself as a selective shopper, after just one lap I had gathered an armful of items that caught my eye and headed to the fitting room. This is where the real test begins. How do these pieces actually look on me, a 5’3” woman in a size 12 who prefers practicality? Zara is known for its unpredictable sizing—a situation I'm not unfamiliar with—so it’s really anyone’s guess what would actually suit me. There were standout pieces and surprises—both positive and negative. Some items felt like instant staples I could wear repeatedly, while others, despite being beautiful, simply didn’t fit my frame well. I ended up with two pieces I couldn’t resist (more details on those later), but there were plenty of additional items I’d recommend as well.
If you’re curious about Zara’s spring 2025 collection and want to know which pieces are worth considering, keep scrolling for my honest reviews of everything I tried on.

1. **Suede Jacket + White Jeans + Loafers**
- **My Review:** Like many others, I've been thinking about getting a suede jacket for months but hadn’t found the right one. I adore blazers, but I wanted a jacket that goes with all my outfits—jeans, dresses, skirts, everything. Sometimes, a blazer simply doesn’t suffice. Before heading to the store, I had a quick look on Zara.com to see if anything caught my eye. Of course, there's no guarantee that online favorites will be in store, but having a list is always useful. As soon as I saw this jacket, I knew it was a winner. Even on the website, the suede appeared high quality, and the barn jacket silhouette seemed elevated in this premium material.
- To my surprise, I discovered a full rack of these jackets in the corner of the store. They were discreetly displayed, and there was ample stock—something that’s rarely seen in Zara stores. I picked up a medium, tried it on with my outfit, and it just worked. It's substantial, has sturdy hardware, and feels very sophisticated. It’s well-lined and drapes beautifully. Featuring a roomy cut (I’m wearing a medium), it will accommodate layers underneath, but I also envision it looking chic over a tee with blue jeans or a cotton skirt for warmer days. Full disclosure: I didn’t make
