I'm Amazed—Zara's Latest Perfume Collection Is Truly Outstanding.
As a beauty editor with a serious sweet tooth, I can’t go a single day without indulging in a few pieces of dark chocolate (specifically, Lindt 70% cocoa, just so you know), and I simply can't resist dessert when dining out. This passion for sweetness extends to my fragrance preferences as well. I admit I have a fondness for gourmand perfumes. While I’m not a fan of excessively sugary scents, I do enjoy captivating vanilla perfumes or creamy, milky fragrances. So, when I discovered that Zara was launching a new cocoa-inspired perfume collection, I couldn't wait to try them out. Although I adore luxury perfumes, I can’t overlook the charm of Zara's scents that smell more expensive yet come at a budget-friendly price. Although they may not have the same longevity as some of my high-end favorites, priced under £30, I can overlook that.
Recently, I finally experienced the Zara Cocoa perfume collection, and I was genuinely impressed. Read on for my honest feedback.
**Zara Cocoa & Latte**
Key notes: White chocolate, Chantilly cream, suede
Fragrance profile: White chocolate, vanilla, and the scent of a new car with suede seats.
I must mention that I'm not particularly fond of leather fragrances (the scent of a new car is one of my least favorites—what a pity for me), but I can still appreciate the elegance of this suede-like fragrance. Throughout the day, it becomes creamier, resembling melted white chocolate and vanilla-infused milk drizzled over luxurious suede. It’s warm, comforting, and smooth. According to "PerfumeTok," it bears a resemblance to the popular Bianco Latte, which is priced five times higher than Zara's version. Since it's not easily available in the UK, it's a fantastic alternative if you’re looking for something with a similar vibe. I found its staying power impressive (as I type this, I spritzed it six hours ago, and it still smells just as prominent as when I first applied it), so if you're searching for a creamy, suede scent that will get you noticed, you’ll really enjoy this.
**Zara Cocoa Sunset**
Key notes: Passion fruit, peach, dark chocolate
Fragrance profile: Indulging in chocolate-covered fruit on a tropical beach.
If you’re a fan of fruity fragrances, I suggest looking into Cocoa Sunset. Zara highlights its "exotic notes of passion fruit," which are definitely noticeable upon the first spray, accompanied by ripe, juicy peach. It evokes a holiday spirit and is reminiscent of the decadence in a Magnum commercial. Once it settles into the skin, the dark chocolate comes through, balancing out the sweetness beautifully. It’s delightful. However, I did find that this scent didn’t last as long as Cocoa Latte.
**Zara Cocoa Bliss**
Key notes: Milk chocolate, whipped cream, vanilla
Fragrance profile: A vanilla dessert topped with whipped cream, fruit, and pistachio.
At first whiff, this scent instantly brought to mind Sol De Janeiro's perfume mist, specifically Cheriosa '62. Although Zara’s website doesn’t list any fruity notes, it reminds me of exotic fruits and toasted pistachios combined with rich vanilla whipped cream. This is probably the least chocolate-forward of the trio, leaning more towards fruity than gourmand—think of breezy summer afternoons spent relaxing under the warm sun. It’s lighter than both Cocoa Latte and Cocoa Sunset, making it a preferable option if you shy away from overly sweet fragrances.
