I traveled to Geneva to explore the three main watch trends that every fashion enthusiast should be aware of.

As the heart of the watchmaking industry, this Swiss city hosts the annual Watches and Wonders event, which I was fortunate to attend this year. The most esteemed brands were present to unveil their latest designs, including Rolex, Cartier, Bulgari, Chopard, Piaget, TAG Heuer, Chanel, Hermès, IWC, and others. My goal? To try on as many watches as possible and share my observations with our Who What Wear audience. I first created an Instagram Reel highlighting my top five favorite timepieces, and now I'm detailing the common trends I observed at the event.

      I was by no means the only attendee wandering the event's revered halls in 2025. Over the course of seven days, Watches and Wonders attracted more than 55,000 visitors, marking a 12% rise from the previous year. Cyrille Vigneron, President of the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation, remarked on the event’s success in a statement: "Watches and Wonders has solidified its status as not only a must-attend inter-professional event but also as a platform for the watchmaking maisons to express themselves. It allows each brand to visually convey its unique universe, to see and wear exquisite creations, and to share a mutual passion.”

      With a primary focus (but not exclusively) on women’s watches, I was eager to see the new releases through the perspective of a fashion enthusiast rather than a watch expert with extensive industry knowledge. Many of the leading brands at the 2025 Watches and Wonders showcased pieces in hues like lavender, mint, baby pink, and sky blue. Chopard and Hublot opted for a monochromatic look, employing the same color for both the dial and strap, while TAG Heuer and Rolex paired delicate pastel dials with sleek steel bracelets.

However, watch enthusiasts quickly recognized the significance of one image: it offered a first glimpse of Rolex's new Land-Dweller, featuring a honeycomb dial. This year, other brands such as Grand Seiko, Chopard, Cartier, Zenith, and IWC also presented patterned dials. One particularly eye-catching piece was Bulgari’s new Serpenti Aeterna, which boasts an arrowhead-shaped dial adorned with diamonds.

Hermès revealed a remarkably innovative timepiece that can serve as both a brooch and a pendant necklace. In addition, Piaget and Chanel showcased watch necklaces, with Chanel taking it a step further by concealing a miniature dial atop a gold ring.
