Sara Jetty, strategy director at Live Nation, reminisces about how she met her husband, Brenno Drummond Valerio, who serves as a VP at Treasure Data. "In January 2013, a high school friend, Dan, contacted me regarding a gathering at his Manhattan apartment. He mentioned that he was hosting a reunion for alumni from our small Indianapolis school who had moved to New York City. I had no idea that this event would lead me to meet Brenno—Dan's best friend from college—for the first time." That evening, Sara and Brenno connected over shared interests at Dan's kitchen table, reminiscing about their past experiences at Oasis concerts. Their friendship blossomed in the following months, exchanging new music discoveries via Spotify's messaging feature. Their first date in May ended with them closing down a bar in Union Square.
In the summer of 2021, while in Lake Como, a place significant to their early relationship, Brenno proposed in a quiet area of the Villa Melzi gardens. They spent the day enjoying the lake, indulging in wine and pasta, and capped off the day with champagne on their hotel balcony, savoring the moment before sharing the news with others.
"After getting engaged, it became clear that we had no idea where we wanted to marry. Though we had built our relationship in New York City, none of the venues we visited felt right." Both Sara and Brenno have a deep appreciation for the UK, having spent considerable time there. While celebrating Brenno's birthday at Babington House in January 2023, they realized it was the venue they had been searching for.
"The property exuded beauty while remaining cozy. It felt like a second home, and the welcoming staff quickly became like family. With guests traveling from all over the world, we envisioned Babington as the perfect getaway, complete with activities (tennis, scenic walks, and a local pub), amenities (a spa, gorgeous pools, and a cinema), and delicious, locally sourced cuisine. Once we discovered we could party all night without curfews due to Babington's secluded location, we were sold."
The celebrations kicked off the night before the wedding with a welcome BBQ in Babington's walled garden. Brenno's Brazilian heritage inspired the vibrant evening, complete with Casa Verdes drinks, Brazilian live music, and a plethora of yellow flowers.
Keeping the venue in mind, Sara aimed to wear as many British-designed pieces as possible throughout the weekend. While shopping at Selfridges with her mother, she discovered her House of CB dress for the welcome party. She complemented it with a long organza neck scarf from The Own Studio, a beaded handbag from Shrimps, and classy pearl earrings from Completedworks, aiming for an elegant look that mirrored the garden's floral ambiance but remained relaxed enough to be worn repeatedly.
"I selected a cream double-breasted suit from Reiss for Brenno, and it fit him perfectly—this is definitely one of my favorite looks on him!" They decided against having a bridal party, inviting instead Sara's mother and close friends to join her for hair and makeup in her room—completely optional. The atmosphere was laid-back, with guests coming and going, and a steady supply of food, coffee, champagne, and rosé throughout the day. To keep things comfortable, Sara wore a simple slip dress from Bec & Bridge paired with Loeffler Randall ballet flats.
Hairstylist Abi Constanza and makeup artist Saskia Wright were fantastic additions to the crew—not only were they incredibly talented, but they also created a relaxed environment filled with laughter and conversation. "I strongly recommend doing a hair and makeup trial! It allows you to experiment with different looks, alleviating any stress on the big day. Since I rarely wear my hair up, I wasn't sure how I wanted to style it, but after trying out various styles, I knew a low bun was the best fit."
Sara aimed for a glowing, natural makeup appearance, wanting Brenno to recognize her as herself when she walked down the aisle. She found Saskia through Instagram and instantly knew she was the right choice. Saskia's work captured Sara's daily look but brought an elevated, flawless quality.
Sara's planner referred her to Abi, who understood the desired hair look perfectly. She wanted her hair neatly swept back to highlight the twisted neckline of her dress without fully committing to an updo. Abi achieved a lovely low bun that framed Sara's face flawlessly.
"It's essential to choose vendors for their amazing work and as people you adore. It makes the planning process enjoyable, and you'll appreciate having them present during the festivities.
