Amrit Tietz, an international DJ and co-founder of Spread the Jelly, has forged a distinctive path by integrating her love for music, storytelling, and connection into a diverse career. Originally from Singapore and raised in Australia, Tietz defied cultural norms by secretly leaving an economics degree to pursue her passion for music. She gained acceptance into a prestigious conservatory program, refining her music performance skills while teaching herself to DJ in her free time. After graduating, she made a daring move to New York City without a visa, determined to establish her career. In New York, Tietz worked her way into an advertising agency, beginning as the CEO's assistant. Her perseverance and talent for relationship-building allowed her to manage brand and talent partnerships while continuing to DJ on the side. After almost six years, she took another brave step, leaving the agency to become a full-time DJ. Since then, Tietz has toured worldwide, performing for renowned brands such as Dior and Vogue, with her original music featured in HBO and Apple TV+ productions. In 2023, Tietz embraced a new title: mother. Motherhood transformed her perspective and inspired her latest initiative, Spread the Jelly. As a DJ who performed while seven months pregnant and shared openly about her postpartum experiences and miscarriages online, Tietz found current parenting platforms lacking genuine representation. Collaborating with Creative Director Lauren Levinger, she co-founded Spread the Jelly, an independent online platform focused on redefining modern motherhood. The platform highlights authentic and empowering stories from women like Alison Roman, Elaine Welteroth, and Ilana Glazer, creating a space that celebrates and shares diverse motherhood experiences. Tune into the latest episode of Second Life to learn how Tietz’s journey—from a self-taught DJ to a global performer and now a pioneering advocate for modern motherhood—reflects her unwavering commitment to authenticity and connection.
