Believe me, this £12 mascara is the closest alternative to a lash lift.
Many mascaras come across my desk at the Who What Wear UK office, but only a select few truly make it into my daily makeup routine after testing. While I have a preference for high-end mascaras, it's widely recognized in the beauty community that drugstore mascaras hold the top spot (which is great news for our wallets). Honestly, I've often received the most compliments on my lashes when wearing more affordable options (like L'Oreal Paris Big Deal Mascara or the Panorama Mascara). However, after trying Rimmel's Wonder'bond Lash Filler + Hyaluronic Mascara (£12), it may just become my new favorite. Continue reading for all the details on this impressive mascara.

**Pros**
- Affordable
- Curved wand captures each lash
- Lengthens, curls, fans, and adds volume
- Long-lasting hold throughout the day
- Easy to layer without clumping
- Available in black and brown
**The Wand and Formula**
The wand is made from flexible plastic (my personal favorite over bristled wands) and is designed with a curve that fits closely to the lash line. It features numerous tiny triangle-shaped spikes that help grab every lash as you apply it. The formula includes tiny fibers that enhance both volume and length for each lash. It also contains biotin and hyaluronic acid, which nourish and soften the lashes.
**The Application**
After curling my lashes, I applied the wand and was particularly impressed by the optimal tension this mascara provides. Some mascaras feel ineffective, but with this wand, I could feel it gripping even my smallest lashes, assisting in both lengthening and curling. In the video above, I applied an initial coat and was shocked by how much lengthening and curling it achieved in just a few strokes. This mascara gives a beautifully fanned out effect and has a rich, inky black shade (it is also available in brown, by the way). My lashes tend to droop, even with curling mascaras, but this one kept them perfectly uplifted all day. It feels light on the lashes and is easy to remove at the end of the day. One coat offers a fluttery, wide-eyed appearance, but you can easily apply additional layers for more volume and drama. I’m happy to say I didn't experience any clumping, even after stacking on a couple of coats. Check out my before and after pictures below.

**The Verdict**
Aside from a slight smudge transfer on my upper lids, I can't find any faults with this mascara—especially for £12. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, so I haven't fully realized the benefits of the nourishing ingredients on my lashes yet (though they do feel softer), but it's a nice bonus for what is already a fantastic mascara. The curved brush and bristles effectively grab each lash, stretching, fanning, and volumizing them to their maximum potential, giving you a doe-eyed look. One coat is ideal for everyday length, curl, and definition, but you can apply one or two more for additional volume and a false-lash effect if you're aiming for something more dramatic in the evening.
