Karla Welch discusses the season's top color trend, her favorite watch, and the outfit pairing she'll always love.

      Karla Welch is well-known in the fashion world, but I'll give a brief introduction. She is a brilliant stylist who has transformed her clients into fashion icons, including Tracee Ellis Ross, Anna Sawai, Olivia Wilde, Sarah Paulson, and Michelle Monaghan. If you've admired a stunning red carpet outfit over the past ten years, there's a strong possibility that Welch created it. Additionally, she serves as the CEO of two companies: Wishi and The Period Company. As soon as I had the opportunity to interview Welch, I knew exactly the questions to ask.       What are your top three favorite pieces for summer?

      A white t-shirt paired with white jeans. It’s crisp, clean, and always effortlessly stylish. Next, a bandana kerchief. I appreciate its versatility—wear it in your hair, as a top, a belt, or a necktie. It brings in the perfect touch of country charm! Lastly, wear whatever swimsuit you love and embrace your wonderful body. Summer is all about feeling great. Hydrate, glow, and enjoy each moment!

      What’s your current favorite watch?

      Honestly, I can’t choose just one. At the moment, I’m really into the Citizen Dress Classic Watch ($325) with its black strap and gold accents, as well as the Zenshin Three-Hand Watch ($420) in silver. That said, I’m also interested in the gold options! Both watches are classic and complement my style—especially when I wear jeans and tees. The silver has a more masculine feel, while the gold offers elegance. Interestingly, they are quite different yet still feel equally timeless and cool to me. That’s true style.

      Are you in favor of mixing metals when it comes to jewelry and watches?

      I enjoy mixing metals and textures. Layer them all together—there are no rules! That’s what makes it enjoyable.

      What do you predict will be the biggest color trend for fall 2025?

      I’m hoping for a deep, rich red or burgundy, and honestly, a dark navy as well. Even better, I’d love to see them paired together. It’s a bold, luxurious combination that I’m eager to see.

      What’s the most classic way to style jeans for fall?

      It’s difficult to choose just one favorite pair of jeans; it’s really about what fits and feels best. I’ll always explore new trendy cuts, but I’ll never abandon the classic styles that make me feel incredible. For fall, I’ll continuously enjoy pairing jeans with a tee, a blazer, a worn loafer or cowboy boot, and of course, my Citizen watch.
