Scandi Style, Unfiltered: An Editor's Report from Copenhagen Fashion Week
If you had told me three seasons ago that I would be packing my belongings into a carry-on and making my way to Copenhagen again—all for fashion—I probably would have found it hard to believe. Attending Copenhagen Fashion Week has always been a dream of mine, and thankfully, here I am, back for the third time. This time, I joined CIFF (the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair), which is one of Europe’s largest and most influential trade shows. It's a vibrant space where buyers, editors, and creatives come together to uncover the next big trend—and yes, there's an abundance of Scandi style inspiration to soak in. CIFF is where the action happens behind the runway: emerging brands, established names, and hidden treasures all under one stylish roof. It meant less sleep, more meetings with designers, and a front-row experience of the creative energy that makes this city one of the trendiest fashion capitals around. There’s something about Copenhagen that just gets it right. Maybe it’s the perfectly oversized outfits or the cardamom buns. Honestly, it’s likely a combination of both. Regardless, I spent the week darting between shows and showrooms, weaving around bicycles like a local, and capturing way too many outfit photos along the way. What follows is an unfiltered, mildly chaotic, and highly stylish diary of my experiences at Copenhagen Fashion Week and CIFF—a photo collection with commentary. From outfit changes in questionable spots to late-night dining experiences that truly lived up to the hype, here’s everything I saw, wore, ate, and lightly obsessed over.
DAY 1: Wine, Polka-Dots, and Carry-On Outfits
2:00 PM: After arriving in Copenhagen in the afternoon, I did what any other jet-lagged editor would do: I took a nap. Did I miss a show? Possibly. Did I manage to assemble a decent look? Maybe! However, I believe a well-rested editor is a happy one, so I appreciated having the afternoon to myself to unpack, relax, and catch up on work before the chaos began.
8:00 PM: Off to the Caro Editions show! This season, the show centered on the love story of founders Caroline and Frederik Bille Brahe, who recently married under the bridge where the show was held. True to Caro Editions style, the playlist was filled with popular tracks, there were numerous polka dots, and the footwear stole the spotlight. This season, the brand teamed up with New Balance to create taupe-colored suede 204L sneakers, adorned with charms and bows.
9:00 PM: Not to be cliché, but it's wine o'clock somewhere. Guests were transported to Apollo Bar after the Caro Editions show for an after-party co-hosted by Mulberry, who provided handbags and leather accessories for the show. Apollo Bar's spacious, open courtyard is one of my favorite spots to grab a drink between shows during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Plus, there was a literal wedding cake to celebrate the couple's recent nuptials.
11:00 PM: I’m not sure how we managed it, but my friends and I stayed up late enough to grab a late-night bite at Cleo, a cozy gastro wine bar in Nørrebro. If you visit, you absolutely must try the white chocolate-flavored ice cream.
DAY 2: The "Coachella" of Trade Shows and Martini Olives
9:00 A.M.: One of the highlights of being in Copenhagen during Fashion Week is spending my mornings at CIFF—the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair. As an editor whose inbox is always overflowing, you can imagine I’m constantly inundated with new brands, pitches, and ideas. I’ve found the best way to discover hidden gems is by meeting founders in person, hearing their stories, and trying their products firsthand. Given CIFF's significance in the Nordics (hosting over 1,000 brands twice a year!), I typically set aside about three hours to explore and stumble upon smaller brands I wouldn’t have encountered without CIFF. I was able to meet with brands like PleatsMama, Rave Review, and Rue de Tokyo.
12:00 PM: I took a cab from the Bella Center, where CIFF is held, to the city center for an appointment with Lié Studio, the Danish jewelry company started by models, muses, and twins Amalie and Cecilie Moosgaard. This season, the brand featured subtle ‘80s elements for their Fall launch. I’m a fan of their leather goods and picked up a teal-colored pebbled-leather bucket bag that became a key piece of every outfit I wore in Copenhagen.
3:00 PM: A few American editors and I synchronously headed to the Danish Design Museum, the venue for the Skall show. Skall is always enjoyable to see, with their feminine fabrics and airy silhouettes becoming real closet favorites for me. I was particularly taken
