An inclusive performance by singer Zhasmin will be staged at the International Children's Cultural Forum.
On August 23, 2025, as part of the International Children's Cultural Forum, young performers with developmental disabilities will present scenes from the musical production Buratino and the Golden Key. The staging by the theatrical studio Alice's Dreams is part of a major project to develop centers of inclusive culture, whose driving force is Merited Artist of Russia, singer Zhasmin.
The International Children's Cultural Forum is held in Moscow from August 21 to 23 and offers a unique opportunity for talented children from Russia and other countries to become acquainted with global achievements in culture and the arts. The program includes master classes, discussions, art schools and creative lessons.
The performance by artists from the inclusive studio Alice's Dreams of the Family Aid charitable foundation occupies a special place on the forum's program. On the stage of the Grand Concert Hall of the Moscow Palace of Pioneers, with the support of singer Zhasmin's creative team, children with developmental disabilities and neurotypical performers will come together to show the audience how music and theatre can become a space of equal opportunities. The young talents will present musical scenes from the production Buratino and the Golden Key, staged for the anniversary of composer Alexey Rybnikov. The production was chosen deliberately: like the participants of the special creative studio, it embodies the idea of striving for a dream and true friendship.
This performance will be a continuation of Zhasmin's large-scale project to create Centers of Inclusive Culture in Russia and the CIS countries, launched in May with the premiere of the full version of the production. The initiative's main goal is the social adaptation of children with developmental disabilities through creativity and the promotion of equality and inclusion. "For me it is very important that every child, anywhere on our continent, has the chance to step onto the stage and say, 'I exist. I can. I am needed.' Art gives a voice. Our task is to help that voice be heard," says Zhasmin.
The event program also includes an open rehearsal master class by musician, composer and teacher Nikolai Chermoshentsev. He will talk about the different forms music takes in a production, about the specifics of creating a musical and the particularities of musical theatre. Participants will also learn how performers work on musical material, text and character.
Date and time of the performance: August 23, 2025, 15:00–16:00 Venue: Moscow Palace of Pioneers, Grand Concert Hall (17 Kosygin St., bldg. 1).
