Not Mascara, Not Eye Shadow: This Often Ignored Product Enhances the Allure of Your Eyes

The eyes serve as a glimpse into one’s soul, making them one of our most captivating features. I already know that you possess stunning eyes, dear reader, and if you wish to enhance them, I need to introduce you to an often-overlooked makeup item that will make your eyes appear bright, wide-open, and incredibly alluring—a particular type of eyeliner. Today, I will guide you on how to use this product like a professional. You can definitely blame me when someone remarks that they find themselves lost in your eyes, as this will likely happen frequently.

The amazing product in question is white eyeliner—yes, white. Lady Gaga is known for lining her waterline with a matte white shade to accentuate her eyes on stage and at events. I completely agree with her—it’s truly the secret to achieving those doe-like eyes effortlessly and quickly. While siren and fox eyes are stylish, in my opinion, a doe-eyed appearance is more suitable for everyday wear and doesn’t demand such precision. (Honestly, who has the time or patience for winged liner every morning?)

Now, for my favorite part! The eyeliner I prefer is the Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner in Linen. I've tested numerous eyeliners, and this one stands out as the best across all categories. The soft, creamy pencil provides vivid color payoff, smooth application, and lasting wear. Additionally, it doesn’t irritate sensitive eyes.

Now, how do you use this product? Here’s a complete guide: First, apply it on the waterline, focusing the pigment on the outer waterline and gradually blending inwards. This technique is crucial to achieving a natural look without it appearing too stark, which is where many people stumble when using white liner. You can increase the intensity for a full-glam look or keep it minimal, as shown later. Next, add the product to the inner corners of your eyes in a sideways V shape, and then blend it out using the sponge tip of the liner.

For a quick one-minute solution for brighter eyes, lightly apply it on the outer waterline and inner corner. Voilà—doll-like eyes in seconds.

Bonus Tips: Because I care and want to share more, here are a few additional tricks for beautiful eyes, regardless of your eye color or shape.

      - Curl your lashes: Using an eyelash curler makes a tremendous difference. You can simply curl them and leave it at that, or apply a lengthening mascara for added drama. I have tried many mascaras, and my top picks are Refy's Lash Sculpt (£22) and Essence Lash Princess (£4).

      - Contour your lids: Only three shades are needed to add significant depth to your eyes. Use a light shade in the center of your lid, inner corners, and brow bone; a medium shade in the crease and lower lash line; and the darkest shade in the outer crease. Then, blend everything out, and you're set.

      - Complementary colors: This is quite straightforward—choose eyeshadows that enhance your eye color. For blue eyes like mine, shimmering gold and green shades will highlight them beautifully. Gorgeous brown eyes look stunning with bronzy espresso and periwinkle tones. If you have hazel eyes, opt for amethyst and mauve shades.
