      I'm definitely a creature of habit. From shorts and skirts to dresses and jeans, I wear some type of denim at least five days a week. (Living in Southern California makes it easy to do this, even during the coldest winter days.) Recently, though, I’ve been challenging myself to broaden my style and set aside the denim for a bit. Especially when it comes to shorts, there are so many stylish non-denim choices available right now. One of my colleagues even dedicated a whole article to a particular trend: lace-trimmed satin shorts. While I must admit they do look a lot like pajamas, they’re simply too beautiful not to wear out in public. Brands like Reformation and Old Navy are embracing lace-trimmed satin shorts, and many designers are creating extra-short styles.
