Established in Bordeaux in 1995 by Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas, Caudalie prioritizes creating high-quality products, primarily using natural ingredients like grape extract. Its perfume line follows this philosophy, with the brand describing its fragrances as “fresh fragrances” that are water-based, resulting in a lower essential oil concentration compared to eau de toilette or eau de parfum. The collection has also undergone dermatological testing, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin.

      Each fresh Caudalie scent aims to evoke a “beautiful, sensory walk through the vines and the emotions it generates.” Priced at £31 each, they are significantly more affordable than other natural fragrances, so I was eager to try them out, hoping to capture the aura of French elegance that I aspire to. With a design that conveys a designer scent and a luxurious-looking bottle, Caudalie’s perfumes have become my go-to for smelling expensive on a budget.        Described as a “memory of summer to wear all year long,” Soleil De Vigne is ideal as a daily fragrance. It opens with an earthy tone before quickly becoming a creamy and warm scent on the skin. As a fan of orange blossom, I was delighted to add this honey-like fragrance to my favorites, and it now permanently resides in my work bag for on-the-go spritzes.

      2. **Caudalie Thé Des Vignes - Best Evening Scent**

       Key notes: White musk, ginger, neroli, orange blossom

      

       For evening fragrances, I prefer something a bit richer, and Thé Des Vignes’ combination of neroli, ginger, and orange blossom satisfies that need. I loved it so much that I plan to purchase the shower gel and body lotion as well. The only downside is that it doesn't seem to last as long on my skin compared to the other Caudalie perfumes.

I particularly appreciate the blend of rose with tart rhubarb and powdery musk.

      4. **Caudalie Fleur De Vigne - Best Woody Scent**

       Key notes: Grapefruit, mandarin, cedar

      

       Created by master perfumer Anne Flipo, Fleur De Vigne offers an interpretation of the vine flower that blooms 110 days before the harvest. The fragrance has a vibrant citrus opening but transitions into a spicy, woody base. If you typically find floral scents too feminine, I recommend trying this more grounded version.

      5. **Caudalie Eau De Vigne - Best Clean Scent**

       Key notes: White musk, bergamot, iris

      

       The fresh and almost effervescent quality of Eau De Vigne makes it the perfect option for those who enjoy a clean scent. The zesty bergamot combined with powdery iris and soapy white musk gives this budget-friendly fragrance a luxurious aroma. It is incredibly sophisticated, and out of all the Caudalie scents I sampled, I would consider this the safest choice for a blind buy.
