I must say there's one store on the High Street that consistently meets, if not exceeds, the trends we look for as the new season arrives—Zara. To explore their latest autumn offerings, I embarked on a retail excursion to one of their largest stores in central London.

      I understand that shopping in person can often be crowded, stressful, and overwhelming, so I took it upon myself to venture into this experience for you (you can thank me later!). This captures the essence of The Great Try-On! Currently, Zara is filled with fantastic suede items, coats, jackets, modern denim sets, lace-trimmed separates, skirts, suits, and an impressive selection of accessories, including satin scarves, trendy shoes, versatile handbags, and eye-catching statement jewelry. These are the types of items Zara excels in—fashion-forward, trend-driven pieces that, when purchased with care and thoughtful investment, can become staples in your wardrobe for years. Our goal at Who What Wear UK is to help you cultivate a thoughtful and functional closet, so I tried on the best pieces I could find and included some pros and cons for a fair assessment.

      For context, I’m 5'8" and usually wear a size 12, Medium or Large, which suits my height and curves. Most of the items I tried were true to size, which made it easy to shop. Many of the pieces I tried on featured straight cuts or were slightly oversized, which I prefer over anything overly fitted. Zara typically offers sizes from XS to XL, which could see improvement, yet remains standard for high street brands.

      The Best Zara Pieces for Autumn 2025, Tried and Reviewed By a Fashion Editor

      1. Funnel Neck Jacket + Satin Separates + Leather Loafers

      My Review: If you know me, you know I’m a sci-fi enthusiast, so creating a look inspired by Trinity from The Matrix brings me immense joy. With that in mind, I was drawn to this glossy, funnel-neck black jacket, which appears to be well-suited for a high-stakes escape. Funnel-neck jackets are very on-trend right now, and I wanted to join in the fun. I tried this one in a medium size (it was perfect in an oversized fit) from Zara's premium collection. I loved its ultra-lightweight feel and crisp quality, making it easy to layer underneath, with ruching where needed (it has drawstrings, stoppers, and elasticated cuffs). My only reservation about this jacket is that it’s made from various synthetic fabrics, including polyurethane and polyester. If I were to invest in a timeless piece like this, I would prefer a 100% leather option for a truly luxurious finish.

      To complement the sleek black jacket, I wore Zara's popular lace-trimmed cami, which has been featured on numerous stylish individuals on the streets and on Instagram this summer in pastel and off-white colors. This autumn, Zara has reintroduced it in an all-black style. This top is perfect for date night, and its asymmetrical shape allows the lace to peek out from under layers such as sweaters, skirts, or denim (all very Olsen-inspired). I found a matching skirt in a chocolate hue, and when worn together, they added a rich depth to the ensemble. To complete the look, I chose a black east-west bag (not laptop friendly, so consider this if it's a priority for you) and shiny leather loafers that appeared very luxurious. Finally, I added an oversized silver floral cuff for an artistic touch. From head to toe, this outfit is suitable for the office and transitioning to after-work dinner and drinks with friends, as it exudes sleekness, style, and sophistication.
