I just returned from NYC, and it seemed like everyone was sporting this exact coat trend.

      I just came back from a mid-November trip to NYC, and the coats were definitely making a statement. In my line of work, I kept a close eye on the outerwear trends, and time and again, one particular style stood out (elegant and versatile as ever). I've also seen it on Elizabeth Olsen. The trend is chocolate brown wool coats. They were everywhere I turned, and I even brought one of my own—a scarf-attached version from Zara. Olsen’s coat was oversized and long, which she styled with black jeans and chunky boots, giving them a much more refined look than they would have had with a different outerwear style. Though black wool coats have been a staple for ages, the recent rise in chocolate brown's popularity explains why the NYC crowd is opting for it over black for their new outerwear purchases.
