To start, I have my doubts that when Dakota Johnson left her home yesterday for the Tracy Anderson Method in Studio City, she aimed to kick off a new legging styling trend. It likely wasn't a deliberate choice, but rather a matter of wanting to be warm and comfortable, and if she happens to read this, it might give her a laugh. However, given her status as a trendsetter, I don’t think this will be the final time we see leggings and sneakers styled as she wore them—whether it was intentional or not.
Legging fashion trends tend to be quite subtle, with previous ones including wearing crew socks over them or pairing leggings with specific jackets or shoes.
