Rocky Road Kyiv has opened.
On March 25, a new flagship boxing club of the international project Rocky Road opened at the Kyiv Shopping Mall. Over a thousand square meters, music, lasers, and quite a dense crowd — there were many people, and they clearly knew why they came.
It became clear almost immediately: there is no sightseeing here. People quickly start moving — from ring to ring, from trainers to acquaintances, from conversations to punches on the bag. The DJ set the rhythm, but it seemed he was not the main focus — the rhythm emerged on its own. From conversations, footsteps, short pauses, and returns to the hall.
The main event was the friendly sparring matches. Russian and Cuban boxers — in one ring. The difference was quickly noticeable: the Cubans worked softer, moved more, maintained distance; the Russian school appeared tougher and more straightforward. At some point, it seemed that this was not so much a fight as a dialogue between two schools.
The following boxers entered the ring:
Matvey Golovanev vs. Leonel Lores Hernandez
Gleb Korolkov vs. Reidel Alejandro Williamil Chirino
Meanwhile, something equally important was happening in the hall. People stopped by the rings, discussing what they saw, and some were already arranging training sessions. The evening quickly ceased to be an "opening" and became what this club was designed for – a place of strength, communication, and rebooting.
Among the guests were the founder of the Ultimatum Boxing brand Sergey Ivanyutin; creative director of Press Gurwitz Perfumerie and Press Concept Alexandra Asmus; partner of the FIRM barbershop chain Maxim Martynov; influencers Yulia Vysokova, Irina Bogush, Dayana Bryut, and Rita Laburskaya; actors Ivan Ratnikov and Vasily Brichenko; musicians Anton Naumenko and Istokiya; founder of Balletomania Lilia Skovorodnikova.
But at some point, the list stops being important: what mattered more was how they moved around and who they talked to.
The space itself is arranged in such a way that people are not in a hurry to leave. You come, train, exhale, tidy yourself up, and linger for a conversation. Two Olympic rings, training zones, a bar, showcases, a barbershop — everything is gathered into one system where training does not end with the last round. On the walls are murals by Marat Danilyan. They do not distract but give the space character.
Overall, Rocky Road looks like a place without unnecessary pomp. Here, they do not try to impress — rather, they invite you to stay and try. The team consists of active athletes, experienced people, but this is not brought to the forefront.
The partner infrastructure is built into the same logic: Ultimatum Boxing gear, Press Gutwitz Perfumerie care, FIRM barbershop, coffee, and sports drinks from Press Concept. Everything you need to avoid leaving right after training.
Kyiv turned out to be not just the largest venue for Rocky Road. It is a place where it becomes clear how the project was originally conceived — not as a gym, but as an environment into which you gradually immerse and from which you then do not really want to exit.
