Spring Has Arrived—The 6 Beauty Products I'm Rebuying Right Away to Get Me Through the Season

Welcome to The Empties Edit, a monthly compilation of the products our beauty director Shannon Lawlor uses until the very last drop. Shannon reviews hundreds of products each year, so only those she truly loves earn the "empty" distinction. Think of The Empties Edit as your ultimate shopping guide for the finest beauty products available. While it may not feel like it yet, spring has officially arrived, and my beauty regimen reflects the change. Currently, I’m opting for a light concealer, fresh, green scents, a balmy blush, and I’m applying bronzer with a heavier hand. I'm eager for the warmer weather to set in. While I’m in the midst of refreshing my beauty routine for spring, some staples remain unchanged. In fact, in the past month, during winter's finale, I finished six exceptional beauty products that I simply can’t transition into spring without. Ranging from mascara to body cream, here are the six beauty items I entirely used up in the last four weeks and will definitely be repurchasing for spring (and every season thereafter).
1. Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara
I’m a huge fan of affordable mascaras, and this one from Maybelline is undeniably among the best for achieving super-long, dark, and lifted lashes. I distinctly remember reviewing it for Who What Wear UK back in 2021 upon its launch, and it has been a staple in my mascara lineup ever since. If you're searching for an outstanding high-street mascara with a luxury finish, this is definitely it.
2. Saltair Santal Bloom Body Butter
This may be my favorite beauty product at the moment. Any change in weather can leave my skin feeling extremely dry, and only seconds after I finished my first tub last week, I started opening the next one. The creamy sandalwood fragrance is absolutely delightful and has a luxurious scent; the thick, whipped texture absorbs quickly, leaving my skin glowing throughout the day.
3. Sunday Riley Breakout Breakup Cleanser
I’m not alone in noticing that 2026 has proven challenging for my skin so far. The latter part of 2025 saw my typically acne-prone skin clear up beautifully, but this year has brought congestion and breakouts with varied texture. Thankfully, this gently decongesting cleanser from Sunday Riley has become my go-to remedy. Its gel formula effectively dissolves and controls excess oil while providing a deep clean without any drying sensation, all while protecting the skin barrier.
4. Jo Loves Rosé A Layered Candle
I recognize that spending £90 on a candle may seem extravagant, but I truly cherished every moment I burned this candle, which lasted the entire month with daily use. Its gorgeous spring-themed design and delightful scent filled my entire flat. Essentially, it offers three candles in one: the first layer blends white rose and lemon leaves; the second transitions into a sweeter fusion of rose and dates; and it concludes with a classic springtime rose petal aroma. I have another one set aside for when I truly want to treat myself, as this luxury candle deserves a special occasion.
5. Susanne Kaufmann Bath for the Senses
This is either my eighth, ninth, or tenth bottle of Susanne Kaufmann Bath for the Senses—my memory fails me here. As someone who indulges in nightly baths, I have exceptionally high standards for my bath products, and Susanne Kaufmann is undoubtedly my favorite brand in this category. I’ve been using this oily bath foam for many years and consider it one of the finest ever created. It has a soothing, milky scent, nourishes the skin, and allows me to unwind completely. Pure relaxation.
6. Sarah Chapman Intense Hydrating Booster
Last but not least is this hyaluronic acid serum from Sarah Chapman. Honestly, as a beauty journalist with over a decade of experience, I previously thought all hyaluronic acid serums were fundamentally the same—nothing revolutionary. However, this product has somewhat altered my perception. It’s a beautifully hydrating serum that didn’t cause any breakouts, didn’t make my skin look greasy, and indeed provided all-day plumpness, hydration, and glow. I’m sold and I want more.
