      Outdoor Voices has made a comeback, and so has its founder, Ty Haney. Haney, who started the beloved activewear brand in her early twenties and left in 2020 following allegations of mismanagement and overspending, is officially back in the fold. At the end of July, she shared a touching video on Instagram in collaboration with OV, captioned simply: “We’re back baby.” The post quickly garnered nearly 22,000 likes and a wave of enthusiastic comments from fans, many declaring it “safe to shop again.”

      If you were around during the height of the Doing Things movement, you'll recall it vividly. Haney founded Outdoor Voices at age 23, fresh from Parsons, envisioning a brand that combined athletic wear with lifestyle appeal. By the late 2010s, her minimalist, color-blocked leggings and sporty-casual designs became staples of street style, with the brand’s iconic tagline appearing everywhere, from leggings to canvas totes, seemingly ubiquitous until its decline.

      Haney's exit in 2020 coincided with a downturn in the industry. By March 2024, the brand had closed all physical stores and transitioned entirely to e-commerce, now owned by a larger parent company. Loyal fans watched as the brand lost its luster—fewer colors, diminished innovation, and an identity crisis that no “core basics” release could remedy. However, excitement grew when Haney hinted at a return, and a preview of the new collection sent conversations buzzing.

      Now, the moment has arrived. Haney’s comeback collection has officially launched, bringing some refreshed fan favorites while aiming for a higher vision. According to Haney, it is “more fashion-forward” and incorporates natural materials alongside the brand's well-known technical fabrics. The collection pays homage to the original OV but through a contemporary lens: script-font logos replace the classic block lettering; cardigans take the place of fleece zip-ups; and pleated skorts merge tennis-club aesthetics with Y2K flair in the classic warm-up skort.

      While it might not be the colorway restock fans were hoping for, it’s not intended to be. This is OV, reimagined. Notable pieces include a bold, Missoni-inspired bra-and-short set, and the elevated Energy Dress (Haney’s favorite), which feels equally suitable for a city outing or a Pilates session.
