When it comes to footwear trends, Beatriz de los Mozos, CEO and founder of the shoe brand Flabelus, strongly believes that comfort shouldn't be sacrificed for style. However, before de los Mozos revolutionized shoe-wearing, her professional journey began in law. After earning her law degree and a master's in comparative politics, she started practicing law in London. She subsequently took on a role as sales manager and senior legal expert at a legal startup, where she contributed significantly to the company's growth over several successful years. Her career path changed dramatically due to a personal health issue. Diagnosed with scoliosis, she was advised by her doctor to stop wearing her beloved shoes. Unwilling to compromise style for comfort, she envisioned a type of footwear that could provide both. This vision laid the groundwork for Flabelus, merging the casual elegance of Italian furlanes with the traditional comfort of Spanish espadrilles.

Motivated to turn her idea into reality, de los Mozos initiated a Kickstarter campaign. She collaborated with a Spanish factory to create the distinctive hybrid designs, leading to the birth of Flabelus. What began as an online-only business swiftly attracted customers looking for stylish yet supportive shoes. In just five years, the brand has experienced impressive growth, expanding from online sales to physical retail, and is now found in over 700 stores across 54 countries. The company has also established a burgeoning network of flagship boutiques, enhancing its global standing and reputation for comfortable, fashionable footwear.
