Anastasia Kas is a contemporary artist

Anastasia, you have been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia for many years and are one of the brightest representatives of the younger generation of contemporary artists. In what style of painting do you paint?

I write in a modern style. It can be said that this is a mix of expressionism with a combination of symbolism. It is important for me that the painting carries creative energy, creates a sincere and warm atmosphere. For me, every painting is like my child. Everyone has their own character and unique mood. And the task of my paintings is to set a certain psychological climate for the space, which helps to generate the right energy and, of course, positively influence the mood. That's why I'm always very excited about painting. And at the moment of creating a work, I am always only in a good mood and discard all the fuss from myself, I concentrate only on the process.

Today, many artists strive to show their paintings at world auctions and exhibitions. Have you presented your work in other countries?

The paintings are indeed in various countries. The very first sales were abroad to London. My paintings are also represented in galleries in America, in Miami, New Jersey.  I'm also involved in a major project in Malta called "We Art Love". The concept of this project includes understanding - art as charity.  I help the World Wildlife Fund, an international organization dedicated to the protection of wild animals. And the first charity exhibition was held in the summer. The paintings were sold, and some of the funds went to the animal welfare fund. I really wanted to draw attention to the problems of animal conservation and their habitat. The animal paintings that I have created reflect exactly the beauty and vulnerability of nature that we must protect and preserve.

My first solo exhibition was also held in Malta on my birthday. I called it "Passion". I was very pleased that my first solo exhibition was held there, and absolutely all the paintings were sold.

My works have also found their home in private collections in Dubai. And I think that this year I will discover new countries for myself, I regularly receive more and more new offers, and I am happy to share art with the world.

You have your own painting school with a very interesting history and direction. You don't just teach people of different ages how to draw, but also help them fulfill their desires through drawing. Please tell us in more detail.

In my art class, this is my project, where we paint paintings and conduct master classes, I don't just teach drawing techniques, we create a whole community that unites people who strive for self-expression, to fulfill their desires. And each person who comes brings with them their own unique story, their own dreams. And my task is to help them express it through art.  In the process of creativity, students not only learn how to paint, but also discover new facets of their talent. We conduct classes where every brush stroke brings joy, emotions, and art becomes a tool that allows people to forget about everyday worries and concentrate on the process. And it is important to note that my classes are not only about teaching painting, but also about creating a friendly atmosphere. Our students find common interests, share their experiences and inspiration. Many people start making friends. We also organize friendly meetings and events where we discuss not only success in art, but also life in general. Both the collaboration of friendships and communication turn into real support and mutual assistance, and give you the opportunity to feel like a part of something bigger. We are always in a constant process, inspiring each other. And all this creates a unique atmosphere where everyone can be themselves, and most importantly— be happy. I believe that through art you can not only create a beautiful painting, but also change your life for the better. Therefore, in our art class, life becomes brighter, and the desire is closer to fulfillment. After I saw that many people had their wishes come true, I came up with whole rituals. At the master classes, I show and tell you where it is better to place feng Shui paintings, how to properly charge them. I also give special candles so that everyone can come home after lessons with their painting, hang it up and dream, light a candle, read affirmations, and real magic will happen to them. Over the past couple of months, I've seen so many positive reviews and a large number of people who have begun to make their dreams come true. One of the most popular subjects is peonies. And my work began with them.At the end of 2020, I had a major exhibition at the New Tretyakov Gallery. I put on a series of "Five Languages of Love", after which I began to notice changes in myself. And I also saw a change in the girls, my students, who began to paint peonies. Peonies are an imperial flower that has the "power of love." Therefore, many girls, after writing peonies, establish their personal lives, meet a soulmate, get married. That's probably why this flower is the most popular subject of my students' paintings. The "Lemons are millions" stories are also popular, after which everyone starts to receive finances and move to new heights in their careers. In general, painting, I think, is a tool and a clue to what a person begins to strive for more in his life. And I think it's thanks to the paintings and their desire that they achieve their goals.

What do you think is the most marketable painting style today, and where should a young artist start and how should they choose their own style?

Today, there are many styles of painting. Their popularity may vary depending on the market, trends, and collectors' preferences.Nevertheless, I believe that there are several areas that are well represented in modern galleries. These include: abstract painting, which is more popular now, modern realism, pop art, as well as a variety of mixed techniques, conceptual art. And it is these styles that often attract attention due to their originality.  For a young artist who aspires to start his career, the key point should still be to find his own style. I believe that art should come from within, and a person should express himself, show his true self, not be afraid and make mistakes, and over time, this can develop into something more than just a hobby.

Can art schools, of a modern type for adults, help not only teach people how to draw and give them a hobby, but also prepare them professionally so that a student can become a famous artist?

Yes, success in art is impossible without passion and dedication to your work. An art school can provide the necessary tools and support, but the decisive factor is always the student's desire to develop and work on himself. In turn, he or she should strive to develop and not just draw in an art school, but so that the place of study becomes a real inspiring medium for growth and self-expression. This certainly contributes to achieving professional success.

Are you already a well-known person in the professional art community, if it's not a secret, which of the famous, media people already have your works in their collection?

Yes, many paintings are in the collections of famous people. Unfortunately, I can't name all of them. Maybe I'm being indiscreet, but I'm watching people who start working for me, and I notice how much their lives are changing for the better. And, of course, I cannot claim that this effect is only due to my creativity. No, of course not. But I believe that there is also a drop of me in this, which subsequently creates a wave of good luck for a person. Some deputies and academicians have my paintings. Also, after the exhibition in Kazan, my painting is in the Kazan Kremlin. My work was noticed by the former President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev. And now he has my painting in his collection. The beautiful actress Jeanne Apple also has my picture. I am extremely pleased that many paintings have found such good owners and that people appreciate and notice my work.
