The final of the national qualifying round of the International Children's Original Song Contest "Our Generation-2025" will be held in Moscow.
On September 6, 2025, the final of the National selection round of the International Television Contest of Children's Original Song "Our Generation-2025" will be held in Moscow. Fifty young finalists from various regions of the country will come to the capital to perform their original compositions and compete for the right to represent Russia at the prestigious event.
The main organizer and founder of the "Our Generation" contest is the Center for Creative Development "Academy of Contemporary Art." It is held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The strategic partner of the contest is the All-Russian public-state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First." The final will be broadcast live by the NTV television channel.
This year the national stage broke records for the number of applications: more than 400 works from different regions of Russia were submitted for participation. A professional jury selected 50 of the best young singer-songwriters from 25 cities across the country for the final: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Tyumen, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Arzamas, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Magnitogorsk, Novorossiysk, Yevpatoria, Maykop, Dolgoprudny, Podolsk, Berdyansk and Izhevsk.
"Every stage of the 'Our Generation' contest proves that the project has reached a truly large-scale level. The national final is not just a selection, but an opportunity for young artists from across the country to make themselves known and to feel part of a major international event. It is important to us that Russia is represented on the world stage in the most worthy way, and that is precisely why we pay so much attention to the National final," said Stella Khachanyants, the contest's general producer and founder of the "Academy of Contemporary Art."
The winner of the National final will represent Russia in the final of the International contest "Our Generation," which will take place on October 11, 2025 at the Live Arena in Moscow. This year representatives of more than 15 countries have confirmed their participation in the project, underlining its significance and growing international status. Talented children and teenagers from different countries will come to the Russian capital to take part in a grand concert and showcase their abilities to a global audience. In addition, an educational program will be organized for foreign guests: excursions to the capital's historic sites, an introduction to Russian culture through creative master classes with professionals, and other events.
"Our Generation" is an open international contest that has been held in Russia for the third consecutive year; it has managed to become a worthy alternative to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and to surpass the original in terms of organization and participant preparation. The contest features talented children and teenagers from around the world aged 9 to 16. A mandatory condition is the live performance of a new composition authored by the participant, or the participant must have taken an active part in its creation.

"Our Generation" is an open International Television Contest of Children's Original Song that has become an alternative to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in our country. It gives young talents the opportunity to demonstrate their creative achievements to a global audience. Unlike the European contest, "Our Generation" carries high cultural values, an educational program, develops the potential of the younger generation, and completely excludes any political aspects. Its main goal is the exchange of creative experience and the strengthening of friendly relations among participants. This includes the development and support of young talented singer-songwriters, the popularization of their work, as well as the preservation and development of the world's national cultures. The contest also provides an opportunity for children and teenagers from around the world to become better acquainted with the multifaceted Russian culture.
The contest was held for the first time in Moscow in November 2023 under the slogan "Music Without Borders" with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The strategic partner of the contest was the All-Russian public-state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First." In 2024 the contest took place in Kazan, also with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
