Results of the project "From Moscow to Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory and to Muscovites' contribution to Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The Autonomous Nonprofit Organization (ANO) "Center for the Development of Culture and Tourism 'New View'" has summed up the results of the large-scale project "From Moscow to Victory," implemented with the support of the Mayor of Moscow Grants for socially oriented NGOs of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of the City of Moscow.
The historical-patriotic competition "From Moscow to Victory," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, brought together more than 380 children and young people from the capital aged 7 to 18. Participants presented creative works that served as a living reminder of the heroic past and Muscovites’ contribution to the common Victory. The competition was held from February to May 2025 with the aim of preserving historical memory through creativity. Participants were invited to create videos featuring recitations of war poems against the backdrop of memorable places in Moscow.
Particular attention is due to the animated videos produced as part of the project. The piece "Battle for Moscow" visualized key events of the capital’s defense, combining archival footage with contemporary graphics. The video "Moscow and Muscovites during the Great Patriotic War" told the story of the city through the experiences of ordinary people. These materials not only enriched the competition entries but also became an educational tool for the city’s schools.
The project culminated in a Gala Concert held on May 18, 2025, at the Illuzion cinema. The event brought together finalists, experts and representatives of city organizations. The program included performances by creative and theatrical groups, screenings of video works and an awards ceremony. The screen showed the best clips filmed at memorials, in parks and on streets that preserve the memory of the wartime years. Attention was also paid to inclusivity: children with special health needs participated in the competition, and their works underscored the universality of the theme of remembrance.
The project’s social impact was confirmed by the online broadcast of the Gala Concert, which drew more than 1,500 viewers, including teachers and parents from other regions.
The jury chair noted: "The participants’ works are not just competition materials, but sincere messages to the future. Each performance reminds us: the memory of the war is alive as long as we pass it on." The project manager added: "The project showed how important it is to speak to young people in the language of creativity. We are ready to develop cooperation for new initiatives." The organizers express their gratitude to the Mayor of Moscow Grants for financial and organizational support, to the Illuzion cinema for providing the venue and technical support, and to the teachers and parents for their assistance in preparing the participants.
The "From Moscow to Victory" project has completed its first stage, but the relay of remembrance continues. Join the upcoming initiatives to help preserve history for future generations.
