Melanie Masarin serves as a Who What Wear Editor in Residence, while also being the founder and CEO of Ghia. She authors Night Shade, her Substack newsletter documenting her experiences as a founder, her treasure hunts, fashion thoughts, and food journals, and is set to release a cookbook titled Riviera. If it seems like everyone is currently in Paris, it's for a multitude of reasons: fashion weeks, yes, but also the second edition of Art Basel Paris; Design Miami.Paris; Paris Photo, which I highly recommend; plus a continuous influx of new attractions that make visiting Paris consistently worthwhile. Whenever someone requests recommendations too far ahead of time, my response is, "Please get in touch two weeks prior," as each season brings a literal nouvelle vague of openings. Below, I've listed a combination of tried-and-true favorites along with newly opened places worth checking out.

37 Rue de Grenelle, 75007 - Rubirosa's is owned by jeweler Lauren Rubinski, whose grandfather once sold poplin to the Vatican. With beautiful cashmere, pajamas fit for dinner as separates, and slippers presented in lovely packaging, this store is quite tempting. She kindly requests not to label it "the new Charvet”…

6 Rue du Marché Saint-Honoré, 75001 - The extraordinary creative director Olivier Leone, along with his partner Arthur Cohen, who own the excellent Ojii, have just launched a sushi bar in the stunning Marché du Palais Royal. This is definitely going to be the next popular spot in Paris.

42 Rue Charlot, 75003 - Although not a new location, after many inquiries about whether it was worth the wait, I decided to give it a shot (only a 10-minute wait) and was disappointed to leave with the best jambon-beurre I've ever tasted. They are generous with the toppings, and all combinations are mouthwatering. Now that I'm back in New York, I'm desperately seeking something comparable—unsuccessfully!

1 Rue du Sabot, 75006 - Created by the talented Sarita Posada (who I believe contributed to Palm Heights and Aimé Leon Dore), this place offers a refreshing change from the usual spots in the 6th! The dining area has a very appealing atmosphere, and I plan to visit next week.

18 Rue de Beaune, 75007 - The beloved vintage shop from Tucson and New York has finally arrived in Paris. The selection is incredibly impressive, even by Paris standards, but, similar to New York, it’s quite pricey.

134 Boulevard Haussmann, 75008 - This location has been a local favorite among my friends. The Lebanese mezze, lamb shank, and pistachio baklava are all delectable. The cotton candy ice cream is a bit too out there for my taste, but it’s worth a try.

1, Place Clemenceau, 75008 - This stylish venue is run by the group behind Loulou. I've only dined outside on the lovely terrace during the summer, but I noticed while walking to the restroom that the interior has no bad tables—a considerable achievement in restaurant design.

69 Rue de la Fontaine au Roi, 75011 - Not a new store, but it deserves special recognition as one of my favorites in Paris: primarily secondhand, featuring meticulously curated small-batch items, including '60s overstock from Petit Bateau and ceramics by Anne-Sophie Matrella.

7 Rue de Thorigny, 75003 - This traditional Japanese ryokan in the Marais has received rave reviews from several friends. They offer authentic sento bathing rituals, shiatsu, and tea, with exceptionally good massages.

7 Rue Rouget de Lisle, 75001 - Close to an excellent shopping trifecta (The Row + Bode + Charlotte Chesnais) in the 1st, this is the new sibling restaurant to Alfi's, which is a personal favorite. The Row’s Paris location is beautiful, featuring Prouvé doors in the fitting rooms. However, even before the dollar fell to $1.19 against the euro, prices here were higher than in the U.S.

23 Rue de Grenelle, 75007 - This charming shop opened last Friday in Saint-Germain. The owner embodies the spirit of Amélie and offers “almost 100% French flowers.”

56 Rue Amelot, 75011 - This Greek-Cypriot eatery is known for its shared mezze and has an ambiance reminiscent of a cozy dinner party among friends, charming the fashion community last year. Don’t miss the orange blossom frozen Greek yogurt; it’s absolutely delicious.

      More Spots on My List:

      - Hotel Massé, 32bis rue Victor Massé, 75009 - This is the first hotel in the 9th district from a lovely brother-sister duo. The rooms are small, but the light and design are lovely. The value for the price
