      I am truly a creature of habit. Whether it’s shorts, skirts, dresses, or jeans, I find myself in some form of denim at least five days a week. (Fortunately, living in Southern California allows me to do this even during the coldest winter months.) Recently, however, I've been challenging myself to explore new styles and take a break from denim for a while. When it comes to shorts, particularly, there are plenty of stylish non-denim options available right now. One of my colleagues even dedicated an entire article to a specific trend: lace-trimmed satin shorts. Although they might resemble pajamas, they are simply too lovely to keep hidden at home. Reformation and Old Navy are just two brands that have embraced lace-trimmed satin shorts. Many designers are offering extra-short styles, but if you prefer a longer fit, Free People has knee-length options that will work perfectly.
