Hands Asian will host a gastro dinner with Japanese chef Kazuhiko Kizima in honor of the restaurant's birthday.
July 31st at Hands Asian — a special evening. The restaurant is celebrating its 4th anniversary, and this event will be marked not just with a dinner but with a true culinary journey. Hands Asian and Hands neo-bistro head chef Nikolay Petrukhin, along with guest Japanese chef Kazuhiko Kizima — master of fermented cuisine — have prepared seven unique courses, each of which will be a small discovery.
The evening will begin on the veranda with fresh summer berries and crunchy vegetable spring rolls — a light start before immersing into a world of complex flavors.
The first course is a vibrant and spicy sea bass ceviche in yuzu and lime sauce. Next, guests will enjoy shiitake mushrooms with miso cream on shiso leaves — smoky, deep, with a subtle sweetness. The third course is beef tataki with sesame ponzu, followed by a surprise from Kazuhiko — nutty ramen without broth, thick and rich with a soft texture. The fifth course features crispy octopus karaage with yuzu tomatoes: crispy crust, tender meat, and a bright sweet-sour accent. The highlight of the evening is sous vide black cod in sweet yakitori sauce: melt-in-the-mouth, almost creamy texture with caramel notes. The evening concludes with a terrine and matcha gongfu, where the delicate bitterness of the tea echoes with the creaminess of white chocolate.
Each dish will be paired with a special beverage from TDRYATIKO, the largest importer of Asian alcohol. Kazuhiko Kizima will personally explain how to enhance the flavors of the drinks and why they are consumed differently in Japan compared to here.
The dinner will be held in the cozy atmosphere of Hands Asian in the historic Khamovniki district. Starting at 8:00 PM, guests are invited from 7:30 PM.
